Staking ETH

Solo staking with Stakehouse is a simple process that has been refined for the end user. The process allows anybody to stake a validator in 60 seconds or less. Note: It can take up to 24 hours for a validator to be recognized on the consensus layer. It will then sit in the activation queue. During this time users can still mint derivatives. Currently, there are 2 ways to setup a validator once a user has their 32 ETH, Easy Mode and Expert Mode.

Stakehouse provides Easy Mode as it has simplified many of the complexities related to staking such as staking with Ethereum Deposit Contract (EDC). Stakehouse has taken a process that takes a high degree of specialized knowledge and cut it down to a minute. However, if a user would like to take advantage of the Stakehouse protocol but wants to create their own credentials they can use Expert Mode.

Easy Mode:

Staking with Easy Mode allows users to start staking in 60 seconds, check out the Easy Mode guide. It starts with registering a validator with Stakehouse and depositing ETH to the Ethereum Deposit Contract. Users are provided with keystore.json and deposit_data.json files and a password of their choosing when registering their validator. These files must be kept safe as Stakehouse is non-custodial. This means only the user will have access to them. Once complete a staker is ready to setup a node and can start minting their 24 dETH and 8 SLOT tokens shortly (minting is enabled once the validator is recognized on the Ethereum blockchain).

Expert Mode:

Staking with Expert Mode is similar to Easy Mode but without many of the quick and easy steps. Check out the Expert Mode guide. It is important to note that Expert Mode is designed for individuals with technical knowledge as it requires using a CLI. User’s can also use Wagyu key generator to avoid the CLI, check out our Wagyu guide. Depending on the operating system users will be required to download a specific CLI and generate deposit credentials, which will present a mnemonic phrase. Subsequently, a keystore.json and deposit_data.json file will be generated. The mnemonic phrase, the 2 files and the password of their choosing must be kept safe. Once those files have been uploaded on the dApp, the next step is to setup a node. Users can start minting the 24 dETH and 8 SLOT tokens once minting is available (minting is enabled once the validator is registered on the Ethereum blockchain) on the “My Profile” page.

Stakehouse provides Easy Mode and Expert Mode to help users of all skill levels. Staking with Stakehouse will provide everyone with a seamless experience with tremendous upside as the protocol continues to grow.
