Validator Health Properties

A validator’s health properties are the individual factors that contribute to a validator’s overall health status. Each property has its own health status indicator (green = nominal, yellow = needs attention and red = issue). These indicators provide critical information for any user who needs to take corrective action to restabilize any “unhealthy” validators. They also ensure that everything is operating nominally within the Stakehouse protocol. The validator health properties include:

  1. Validator Penalties - This represents the number of SLOT tokens that have been slashed or leaked. Whenever a validator is slashed or leaks (because of double signing or not attesting) SLOT tokens will be burnt.

The three color designations represent the following circumstances:

    • Green
= Less than 2 SLOT tokens have been leaked or slashed.
    • Yellow
= 2 - 4 SLOT tokens have been leaked or slashed.
    • Red
= More than 4 SLOT tokens have been leaked or slashed.
  2. Consensus Layer & Execution Layer - This checks for differences between consensus layer and execution layer balances after the most recent Balance Report. Since Stakehouse is just a reflection of live Consensus Layer information, balance reporting updates the information displayed on the monitoring dashboards.

The two color designations represent the following circumstances:

    • Green
= 100% accountability between derivatives and the validator balance.
    • Red
= The validator balance does not match the derivatives minted.
  3. Staking Yield Received - This verifies that derivatives minted and the validator balance have not exceeded a 1:1 ratio. This ensures that there isn’t more dETH on the execution layer than ETH on the consensus layer.

The two color designations represent the following circumstances:

    • Green
= Validator balance is greater than or equal to dETH minted.
    • Red
= Validator balance is less than dETH minted.
